These have been converted recently for easier access to the interior

However it is slightly larger and has the beautifully curved

The circular body is fitted with a ring handle on each side and inlaid in gold with a scrolling pattern

The design shows various birds, trees and flowers, including a golden pheasant to represent power and authority. A temple lion, a symbol for protection against evil, sits atop the lid. The jars are produced in Jingdezhen considered the capital of Chinese porcelain production for centuries
